Mini Box Album....

Hello Everyone,

As many of you with children know, this past week was teacher appreciation week.

Pumpkin and I sat down an made these little treasure for her Pre-school teachers.

Loved how they turned out.

While browsing the Silhouette store I found this amazing file by Lori Whitlock.  Each little book is made up of 5 boxes.  Which will fit tea bags, or mini note/cards or even some other die cut shapes.  I fell in love with this file and think it will be part of my holiday gift collection.  Super fun!

We used the Bazzill Dark Brown Suede  I LOVE this cardstock.  It is just the right weight and works so well with everything.  Gives it a 'rich' look.

Then we used a 6 x 6 paper pad of "Pretty Party"  by Crate Paper.  A single paper pad made all the papers for both of the box minis and I have pages and pages left over for some cards.

I also used these items to embellish:
MPS "Yankee Doodle" Stamp Set
MPS "Girlie Doodles" Stamp Set
MPS "Girlie Sayings" Stamp Set
MPS "Freedom Rocks" Stamp Set
My Mind's Eye - Lime Twist Stickers

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Hugs,

Mistakes can be wonderful.....

Hello Craft Friends,

Ok.. so i started out making the card below the same way I made one a couple weeks ago.  But in the process, I glued the 'petals' on backwards.  REALLY!!  how did I do that.  Tired... paper crafting is my stress release.

BUT... i love it!  I think it turned out pretty even with the mistake.

You will have to tell me what you think.

I stamped right on the Washi Tape, and love the look.  I went back and forth on so many color combinations for the background paper, then finally decided to go SIMPLE.  Just layered it right on the white card base.

Products used:
Bazzill Classic White for the base
MME The Sweetest Things
MME Indie Chic Washi Tap
MME Indie Chic Button
MPS Texas Chocolate Ink (I can't pull myself away from this ink.)
MPS Girlie Sayings
Jute

Have a falulous weekend and thank you for popping in to share in my paper addiction.

Hugs,

Denine

Same papers - different look

Hello Fellow Paper Addicts..

I have been watching and playing along with the fabulous gals on Online Card Classes.  It had been not only FUN but very informative as well.

So today I challenged myself with a paper the I tend to pass by everytime I sit down to craft.  I love the colors, but the patterns have never been one of my favorites.  But after watching the videos this week, I am learning how to PLAY nice with papers like these.

These two cards are made with exactly the same papers.  See how different they look when finished.

All papers are from Echo Park's Paradise Beach.
I used the Texas Chocolate Ink for edges
Blackest Night for the stamping
Stamps are from - Moo-ey Doodles, Darcie's, and Stamper's Best

Hope you enjoy!

Hello My Sweet Friend....

It's Friday... It's Friday.... the best day of the week! Right?

I think we will be cleaning all weekend.  The sun has begun to shine a little and the dust is glistening in the rays of sunlight. hehehe and the hardwood floors are in desperate need of a bath.

Well, I pulled out the For The Record 2 collection from Echo Park for my project today.  This collection sure makes me smile because the colors are so bright and the patterns remind me of grandma's garden in late spring/early summer.  Everything in bloom and smelling wonderful.  The cards in the collection are slightly vintage in sentiment and design with the old fashion icons.

I used a Sketch over at CAS(E) this Sketch!

I used up my left over Bazzill Bon Bon cardstock from yesterday and the rest is from For The Record 2 with a little cantaloup twine.  I actually did something that I have never done before, CUT A STAMP IN HALF... eeekkkk  don't yell at me.  For some reason I feel like I just got caught cutting my hair or something.  Anyhow, I had the stamp My Friend, but I wanted the sweet in there too.  So, out came the scissors and it is now 3 stamps.  I KNOW I will use it more now.

Today is the last day to link up the the Green and 4 of Something Challenge and come back Saturday to see what the new Challenge will be!

I will be linking this card to the CAS(E) Challenge
and DL.ART Thankful Thursday Link Party

Have a wonderful weekend and hope you get to play with paper... or at least look at it until your cheeks hurt from smiling.

Today I played with paper.....

I tried to step out of my typically layers today and impressed myself.  Now it may not be Design Team Submission worthy, but I love it.  With all my favorite colors, it is going to sit on my desk for a while to just admire.

I am a paper addict, so most of the time I just like to layer papers.  But today I didn't keep it 'symmetrical' and No stamps on this one.

I used Stella & Rose Little Lady Posies with Indie Chic Citron Time Honeydew and LOVED IT!  They work great together picking up the colors of both collections.  I just sat and touched every sheet of the Stella & Rose line when it came in last year, thinking that MME had peaked.  Then they presented us with Indie Chic, oh my goodness.  If you love earth tones with Indie design... this paper is made for you.  I am a GREEN gal, anything green... then you splash some brown or orange with it... ahhhhhhhh... I am in my Happy Place!

Yep, Paper can truly take me on a vacation in my mind.  Hence, Paper Addict!

For the card base I used the Bazzill Bon Bon Criss Cross paper.  Another of my 'go to' papers for layering and bases.  Then I used the word stickers from The Sweetest Thing - Honey Perfect.  As soon as I saw this sticker... "What A Day"... i knew that was it.  Because it was one of those types of days.

Ok, has anyone ever just fallen out of there office chair?  I did yesterday... just fell out of my chair, not good reason, it didn't move, I just literally fell out of it.  Sat on the floor for a minute, stunned, then laughed and was like... "What just happened".  I pictured myself looking much like a cat that falls off the back of a chair because it falls asleep or something.  But I didn't even have that as an excuse.... that is my "What A Day"..

On with the card, Then I found this cute little mini clothes pin in my stash and put some Washi Tape from Indie Chic over just the top. I saw this idea on Pinterest, super cute!  I think the clothes pins that are just a bit bigger would work better to show off the designs of the Washi Tape.

I also wrapped the card with some white crinkle ribbon.  Oh and I distressed the edges with a pair scissors.

Here is the inside:

and the coordinating sticker to finish it off the sentiment.

Here is a close up of the clothes pin with the washi tape over the top.  Perfect match to the orange in the Stella & Rose paper.

I am going to link this up to the following challenges:
Crafty Creations - Green
7 Kids College Fund - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes
Twisted Tuesday Challenge - Spring into Green

Have a wonderful day playing with paper.

Enjoy the journey

Thank you!

My hubby came home this weekend and actually "requested" a card order from me!

Let me just say that I nearly fell over my own feet.  I was so excited that he asked, but of course didn't want to show that I was bubbling with excitement for fear that he might 'cancel' his order.

He needed some Thank You cards for his team.

I immediatly started hunting through my stamp sets for just the right "Thank You" sentiment and sadly could not find one.

So my next thought was.. AH HA.. cut and print on the Cameo.  Love my Cameo (and my Cricut)

Here is what I came up with:

I really like how they turned out.  I found a card on the Silhouette online store that worked wonderful for what I needed.  you can find it here.  I simply typed my text on the label layer and viola`... instant 'stamp'.

I also used Indie Chic from My Mind's Eye.

One of my favorite lines because of the colors and the texture of the paper.  It is what I call a 'stand alone' paper.  Meaning the weight can support itself without a heavy duty base paper.  I just love this line and all the color in the line, I am a definate Green and Brown combo girl.

Have a wonderful week... hope you find some time to play with paper.

Hugs,
Denine

You are My Rock Star

How many of you have a BOX or BIN full of all those little paper scraps that you just can not throw out?  I have a Banker Box full of scraps.  One day Pumpkin (my 5 year old daughter) and I sat and sorted all the scraps by color or pattern.  It took hours.. so I do feel somewhat obligated now to USE them.  Which is a good thing, otherwise I will need to get a second box ready.

There is a certain sense of accomplishment when I am able to complete a project with mostly scraps.  Sort of like putting a puzzle together.  I mean, I know I can just make a bunch of mini cards to use up the scraps, but I don't get the same feeling of accomplishment doing that.

A fun little card I made for my hubby!

He is working so hard (travels home every weekend 1,700 miles one way)
I wanted to let him know how much I think he ROCKS!!

So why a Leprechaun you ask?... No good answer, except that I have been wanting to cut this little guy from the Simply Charmed Cricut Cartridge for months.  And Pumpkin wanted a rainbow, so what goes better with a Leprechaun?

I used nearly all scraps... One thing I love about digital cutters is the ability to utilize all those scraps for the tiny layered pieces.  Yes, some of my scraps are as small as 2 x 2.  Crazy right.  Like I said... Paper Addict!

I am going to submit this in the following Challenges:
Pumpkin Spice - Green and 4 of Something

Today is the March Blog Hop with all the AMAZING ShopPumpkinSpice Designers as well as the Weekly Challenge.

Have a fabulous weekend and give you favorite Paper Addict a hug!
